The Heart Behind Anchored Motherhood

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m T'Kia an IBCLC and the founder of Anchored Motherhood, where I support families through every season of feeding and early parenting. I’m a proud graduate of THE University of Oklahoma and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I bring both clinical expertise and deep community roots into my work. I live in Oklahoma with my family, and when I’m not with clients you can usually find me outside with my two daughters and our dog, curled up with a good book, or enjoying a good meal with my husband. I’ve helped many families navigate parenthood  from pregnancy through weaning, whether that’s nursing at the breast, pumping, bottle-feeding, formula, or a mix of it all. My heart is that you feel seen, supported, and confident, with a feeding relationship that feels sustainable, connected, and good for both you and your baby.

Whether we are navigating complex latch issues or establishing a sustainable wellness routine, my goal is to hold space for you, providing the practical tools and heartfelt reassurance you need to move from uncertainty into a place of calm, empowered confidence.

My Philosophy

I believe that your journey into motherhood deserves to be met with more than just clinical data; it requires a steady, compassionate anchor. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that while breastfeeding is a physiological skill, it is also a vulnerable emotional transition that thrives on personalized care. I am here to bridge the gap between hospital-level expertise and the quiet, intuitive rhythms of your own home. As your advocate, I provide evidence-based guidance that honors your family's unique goals without judgment. Whether we are navigating complex latch issues or establishing a sustainable wellness routine, my goal is to hold space for you, providing the practical tools and heartfelt reassurance you need to move from uncertainty into a place of calm, empowered confidence.

Postpartum health is the foundation of a thriving family, but it extends far beyond just how you feed your baby. I am here to ensure you feel deeply seen and heard in your rawest moments, providing a soft landing where your nervous system can finally regulate. While we navigate the clinical aspects of breastfeeding, I also prioritize your mental and emotional well-being, helping you move out of the heavy fog of survival mode. Together, we will weave sustainable rhythms into your home life that honor both your needs and your baby’s, building a grounded path toward calm and confident mastery in your new role.
